All good CG characters, no matter how fantastical, have one thing in common; they are believable. What both visual effects and games companies want to see is an artist's ability to produce work that is above all, realistic.
Course tutor Nick Savy understands this all too well having modelled and rigged memorable movie characters like Batman in Batman Begins and a host of daemons in The Golden Compass.
Under Nick's guidance, students will develop realistic modelling techniques and work to professional character briefs exactly as they would in a studio environment. How do you get the muscles to look right? How do you add rich detail but keep things simple? On this course you'll develop the right mix of anatomical discipline and technical efficiency to produce characters of a quality seen in today's major film and game releases.
Creating a good model is only half the battle. You'll need to build a rig that does it justice and most importantly gives you a range of realistic movement. On this course you'll get to grips with creating skeletons, simulating muscles and binding them to your model, producing a piece of realistic character work that showcases all of your new skills.
