Had you always wanted a career in this industry?

Of course I wanted to do this stuff when I was little! My favourite things to watch on TV were those ‘making of’ featurettes on 'Star Wars', 'Indiana Jones' or 'Clash of the Titans'.

How did you find out about Escape, and what was it like?

I had taught myself Studio Max (badly) with the aid of books and a DVD course. I was looking for some help with a package called Character Studio 3 and I stumbled across a link to Escape Studios which was the perfect solution for me. Everything about the people and the environment is inspirational.

What happened after the course?

After the course I ended up in one of the Escape Pods for MPC working on 'X-men 3', and was offered a contract by MPC to continue working with them. Recent stuff I’ve worked on includes 'The Da Vinci Code', 'Poseidon' and 'Little Man'. Who knows? I might even end up on one of those ‘making of’ featurettes soon!

What advice would you give to any prospective students?

Stay late and make the most of it. Don’t think you know it all, because you don’t. No matter how good you are, you can always be better. In the short time you have at Escape, make sure you put in the hours. Anyone with the drive can do it.  It’s not always easy, but it’s always worth it!
